After losing to the Salem Baptist Christian Vikings the last time they met, the Hickory Christian Academy Knights decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Hickory Christian Academy blew past Salem Baptist Christian 80-27 on the road. That 80-27 margin sets a new team best for Hickory Christian Academy this season.
Salem Baptist Christian's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Garrett Trinkle and Eli Hedrick. Trinkle scored nine points along with ten rebounds, while Hedrick scored 12 points. Trinkle scored a full 33.3% of Salem Baptist Christian's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Lloyd, who scored three points along with ten rebounds.
The victory got Hickory Christian Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Salem Baptist Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory Christian Academy will take on Statesville Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Statesville Christian is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
