The Mountain Ridge Miners won against the Shalom Christian Academy Flames last Wednesday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Mountain Ridge managed a 71-65 victory over Shalom Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mountain Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen McGeady out in front who scored 23 points. That's the first time this season that McGeady scored 15 or more points. Ian Duncan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mountain Ridge and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Shalom Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Mountain Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Hopefully Southern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Thursday. Shalom Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Maryland School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th. Maryland School for the Deaf has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three matches.
