The Valley Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Bloomfield Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Cibola by a score of 8-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Zaid Alomari spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jayden Martinez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Zach Toledo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield entered their tilt with Jemez Valley on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 27-0 margin over the Warrior. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Troy Jaramillo made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Trae Woods was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Manuel Chaviarria, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Bloomfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Bloomfield pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average this season. As for Valley, their record now sits at 7-8.
Valley came up short against Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 9-5. Can Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
