Western Brown posted their closest win since October 1, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Clermont Northeastern Rockets 2-1. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Western Brown got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 20-25, 25-17.

Shylah Day paced Western Brown's offense, picking up 14 kills. Day got some help from Lila McCarty and her 27 assists. McCarty was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Western Brown picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Clermont Northeastern, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Western Brown will head out to take on New Richmond at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clermont Northeastern, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Eastern on the 23rd.
