The Faith Baptist Contenders and the Blair Vikings squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Faith Baptist Contenders had to settle for second. The contest between them and the Vikings wasn't particularly close, with the Contenders falling 92-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (55), Faith Baptist still had to take the loss.
Blair's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Serigne Deme, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deme has scored all season. Timmy Anderson was another key contributor, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Faith Baptist and nudges their season record down to 13-12. As for Blair, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.
Faith Baptist does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blair, they will be playing at home against North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blair will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 364th, while North is ranked 148th).
