The Bethel Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the McLoud Redskins at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Bethel was handed a 24-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Wolverines on Thursday. Bethel came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolverines and snuck past 55-53. The win was just what Bethel needed coming off of a 55-31 loss in their prior game.
McLoud has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 72-63 to Tecumseh on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as McLoud came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Savages are ranked 248th).
Bethel's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for McLoud, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.
Bethel came up short against the Redskins in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 66-53. Can Bethel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
