Baseball Recap: Defiance Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Defiance, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Bryan Golden Bears on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Mason Noirot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Colt Ward was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Allegretti, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Defiance's record is now 12-5. As for Bryan, their record now sits at 10-8-1.

Coming up, Defiance will host Olentangy Berlin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bryan, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wauseon at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
