Football Recap: Cactus Gets the Win

Cactus won the last time they faced Millennium and things went their way on Friday too. The Cobras won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Tigers 28-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cobras.

Robert Bell had a dynamite game, picking up 82 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 46 yards and one score.

Cactus didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Millennium to a completion percentage of just 47.4%. The team can thank Jordan Marrufo for the heroic effort on defense: he. Cactus wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 56.7%.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 16 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Bell, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Millennium still got an impressive performance from Dmari Bryant, who rushed for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 66 receiving yards and one TD. Bryant was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 53 yards.

Cactus' record is now 2-0. As for Millennium, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Cactus wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 20-7 loss against Horizon on the 11th. As for Millennium, they have also already played their next game, a 66-6 victory against Agua Fria on the 12th.
