Corona had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past the Bloomington Bruins 14-0. Considering the Panthers have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Corona pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bloomington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Corona and Bloomington could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Panthers will take on King at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (324 vs. 109). Meanwhile, Bloomington (ranked 981st) will meet Eisenhower (ranked 399th) at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
