The Mater Lakes Academy Bears will head out on the road to  square off against  the Westminster Christian Warriors  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. One thing working in Mater Lakes Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten  runs  in their last three games.
On Wednesday, Mater Lakes Academy got the win against Coral Park  by a conclusive  12-6.
Mater Lakes Academy got a great performance from  Christopher Arredondo as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits over 4.2 innings pitched.
 At the plate,  Andres Gomez was a standout: he got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. That  triple was  his first of the season. Another player making a difference was  ANTHONY VELAZQUEZ, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Mater Lakes Academy  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .550. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Westminster Christian came up short against Miami Springs on Wednesday and fell  4-1.
Westminster Christian also got a good showing from  Michael Vigil, who   didn't allow a single  earned run and  only a  hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave  Vigil a new career-high in  strikeouts (five).
 On the hitting side, Westminster Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Gabriel Mejia, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-3.
 Mater Lakes Academy now  has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Westminster Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
 Mater Lakes Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's   match. Mater Lakes Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.2  stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Westminster Christian, though, as  they've been averaging  only 0.4  stolen bases.
