The Dunseith Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Westhope/Newburg by a score of 57-54. Dunseith has not had much luck with Westhope/Newburg recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westhope/Newburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashley Tabarez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tabarez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimberly Tabarez, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Dunseith's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Westhope/Newburg, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunseith will take on New Town at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Dakota (New Town is ranked 66th, while Dunseith is ranked 81st). As for Westhope/Newburg, they will be playing at home against Berthold at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
