The LBJ Austin Jaguars had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They beat Travis by the very same score they won with last week: 53-0. The result was nothing new for LBJ Austin, who have now won four games by 53 points or more so far this season.
Leading LBJ Austin to victory were Caleb Crenshaw and Ali Scott. Crenshaw gained 168 total yards and two touchdowns, while Scott threw for 225 yards and five touchdowns while completing 86.4% of his passes. Crenshaw is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Treawn Young-henderson, who picked up 52 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
LBJ Austin's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 61 points. As for Travis, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.
LBJ Austin will head out on the road to face off against Eastside Early College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastside Early College is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Travis, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against McCallum at 7:30 p.m. McCallum knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Travis likes a good challenge.
