Basketball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Piles Up the Points Against Wickenburg

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Needles, Mohave Accelerated was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 53-23 win over the Wickenburg Wranglers. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Tanner Banks was nothing short of spectacular: she went 13 for 27 en route to 35 points and six steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Farnell, who posted five points and four steals.

Mohave Accelerated was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wickenburg only posted five assists.

Despite the loss, Wickenburg still got an impressive performance from Mallory Murphy, who had 21 points and five rebounds.

Mohave Accelerated has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.8 points. As for Wickenburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Mohave Accelerated has already played their next game (against Mountainside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wickenburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-34 victory against Highland Prep West on the 28th.
