The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garrison Forest in their matchups with Gerstell Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Gerstell Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eniyah Stinnette, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Stinnette hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Annie Jackson, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Garrison Forest bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.4 points per game. As for Gerstell Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Garrison Forest's road trip will continue as they head out to face South River on January 20th. As for Gerstell Academy, they will face off against John Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
