The Richland Rams will head out on the road to take on the River Valley Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Richland has three straight wins, River Valley has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Richland barely beat Bishop McCort the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams' pitchers stepped up to hand the Crushers a 9-0 shutout on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rams have posted against the Crushers since May 13, 2021.
Jake Smith looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Landon Cecconi was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run.

River Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Richland has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for River Valley, though, as they've been averaging 11.3 hits. Given Richland's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Richland came out on top in a nail-biter against River Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
