Basketball Game Preview: Rocky Bayou Christian Knights vs. Pensacola Catholic Crusaders

The Rocky Bayou Christian Knights will challenge the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Bayou Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Rocky Bayou Christian turned things around against Community Christian on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Chargers as they made off with a 65-40 win. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.

Rocky Bayou Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Harrison Sanders led the charge by going 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The match was Sanders' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trand M Scott, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Pensacola Catholic came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Jaguars 70-56. While the Crusaders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Rocky Bayou Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Pensacola Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Rocky Bayou Christian strolled past Pensacola Catholic in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 54-40. Will Rocky Bayou Christian repeat their success, or does Pensacola Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
