The Floyd Central Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 61-47 bruising from Magoffin County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Floyd Central has scored all season.
Chris Spriggs and Ronnie Samons certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Spriggs scored 12 points, while Samons scored 13 points.
Floyd Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Magoffin County, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Floyd Central will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Paintsville at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Magoffin County, they will face off against Betsy Layne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
