After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southampton Academy, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed past Rappahannock County to the tune of 55-14. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Knights just coasted through the last quarter.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Brian Bodman and Chase Watkins. Bodman rushed for 185 yards and four TDs on only 12 carries while Watkins rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Bodman really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.
The victory got Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot back to even at 1-1. As for Rappahannock County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot will welcome Chincoteague at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rappahannock County, they will be playing at home against Model Secondary School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
