The Beallsville Blue Devils and the Wood County Christian Wildcat will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Beallsville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Beallsville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They skirted past Hundred 54-52. The win was just what Beallsville needed coming off of a 68-45 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-42, which was the final score in Wood County Christian's tilt against the Cee Bees on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Wood County Christian came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Cee Bees are ranked 427th).
Beallsville's win bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Wood County Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Beallsville came up short against the Wildcat in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 43-33. Can Beallsville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
