The Central Lake Trojans will head out to challenge the Bellaire Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Central Lake has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Central Lake is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Thursday. They lost 14-3 to Onaway.
Riley Shafer made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Tristan Druckenmiller, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bellaire). They blew past Forest Area 14-6 on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Tucker Molski was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Molski was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Bellaire let Tyler Shumaker and Brady Aldrich run wild. Shumaker got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Aldrich got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Aldrich a new career-high. Ben Klooster also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Bellaire always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Central Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bellaire, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Central Lake might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Bellaire in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
