Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Porte). Everything went their way against the Iowa Colony Pioneers on Friday as they made off with a 23-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Kallie Walker was incredible, going 3-for-5 with nine RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season. Sophie Sandel was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI.
Walker wasn't the only one making solid contact: La Porte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Iowa Colony only managed five hits.
The win made it two in a row for La Porte and bumps their season record up to 14-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games.
