Countryside and Clearwater are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Cougars will face off against the Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Countryside will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Countryside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Brandon get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Lily Mandilk was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Sprague, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Lia McGlashan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Countryside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Clearwater fell victim to Northeast and their airtight pitching crew last Tuesday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-0. The shutout was out of character for the Tornadoes seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.
This is the second loss in a row for Clearwater and nudges their season record down to 9-13. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Countryside, their record is now 6-12.
Countryside suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Clearwater in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
