The Bishop Rosecrans Bishops are taking a road trip to face off against the Monroe Central Seminoles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Rosecrans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Bishop Rosecrans is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Fairfield Christian Academy 21-3 on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bishops with their most commanding win of the season.
Dakota Householder and Emily Jenkins made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Householder tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Jenkins struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At the plate, Householder got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Jenkins went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kerry Thompson, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Moody, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.
Meanwhile, Monroe Central came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Red Knights as they made off with a 13-1 victory. With that win, the Seminoles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Like Bishop Rosecrans, Monroe Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Karlie Haslam. She pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Haslam has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Monroe Central got a massive performance out of Olivia Earley, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Earley has launched this season. Brylee McFredrick was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Monroe Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Monroe Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Rosecrans, their record now sits at 3-9.
