Softball Recap: Polytechnic's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Polytechnic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Chadwick Dolphins. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Amelia Shih made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off 14 hits (and not a single walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eila Chan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kate Asperger, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Polytechnic's record now sits at 11-8. As for Chadwick, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Polytechnic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chadwick, they will square off against Lennox Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
