The Coronado Dons were the 52-34 winner over the Camelback Spartans when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Coronado fell just short of Camelback by a score of 34-32.
Coronado's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kailyn Holsey, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals, and Ariel Douglas who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. Holsey scored a full 31.3% of Coronado's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Coronado now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Camelback, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coronado will face off against Combs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Camelback, they will head out on the road to face off against Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Queen Creek comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
