The Peoria Lions will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Centennial Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Peoria strolled past Limestone with points to spare, taking the game 69-52. Given Peoria's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Limestone is ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Champaign Central scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Centennial still came out on top. Centennial secured a 61-57 W over Champaign Central.
Peoria has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Centennial, they pushed their record up to 18-9 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Peoria was able to grind out a solid victory over Centennial in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 64-51. Does Peoria have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centennial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
