The Far Northeast W Warriors on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Rangeview Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Far Northeast W will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Rangeview is ranked 123rd).
Far Northeast W suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were outmatched by George Washington on the road and fell 94-43. Far Northeast W was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-14.
Despite their defeat, Far Northeast W saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Julian Griffin-Cobbs, who scored ten points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessie Matthews, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, even though Highlands Ranch scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, Rangeview still came out on top. Rangeview enjoyed a cozy 72-55 win over Highlands Ranch. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rangeview.
Kenny Black-Knox continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Denney, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Far Northeast W's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Rangeview, they pushed their record up to 6-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Far Northeast W suffered a grim 77-51 defeat to Rangeview when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Far Northeast W avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
