On Tuesday, the Potomac School Panthers faced the Episcopal Maroon in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Potomac School took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 82-54 victory over Episcopal. Potomac School's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Potomac School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sabrina Anderson led the charge by scoring 23 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least 25% of Potomac School's points. Another player making a difference was Catherine Letendre, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Episcopal still got an impressive performance from Ava Sawi, who scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The contest was Sawi's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Princess Akojenu, who scored 13 points.
Potomac School's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Episcopal, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Potomac School will take on Henrico at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday. Episcopal will be home for the holidays to greet Seton at 5:00 p.m. on December 15th.
