Northwest won the last time they faced Vandegrift and things went their way on Thursday too. The Texans skirted past the Vipers 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Northwest who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-15, 26-28, 25-19.

Levariya Pinder paced Northwest's offense, picking up 16 kills. Pinder got some help from Payton Zondor and her 25 assists. Zondor also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Chloe Danicki, racking up two apiece.

When it comes to explaining why Vandegrift lost, don't look at Isobel Cullen. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and two aces. Olivia Gorakhpurwalla also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Vandegrift, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Northwest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Boswell on the 21st. As for Vandegrift, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Walnut Grove on the 21st.
