Stone Memorial waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Livingston Academy Wildcats by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 on Tuesday.

Talyn Hurd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits.

At the plate, Stone Memorial's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gage Eldridge, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave Eldridge a new career-high. Another was Drake Scarbrough, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Stone Memorial now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Livingston Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stone Memorial will venture away from home to square off against Wartburg Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Livingston Academy, they will head out to face off against Clarkrange at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Buffaloes at the right time seeing as the Buffaloes are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
