Charlotte Latin is 1-9 against Providence Day since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Hawks will welcome the Chargers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Charlotte Latin 2.3, Providence Day 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Monday, Charlotte Latin made easy work of Lee Park Prep and carried off an 11-1 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by eight runs or more this season.

Ainsley Sullivan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Charlotte Latin let Irie King and Caroline Coble run wild. King went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Coble went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That triple was King's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Talia Hawa, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Charlotte Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Providence Day and Charlotte Christian had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Chargers lost 7-1 to the Knights on Tuesday. Chargers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Knights since on Tuesday.
Rachel Lyons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.
Charlotte Latin pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Providence Day, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Both Charlotte Latin and Providence Day just can't seem to miss. The Hawks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Providence Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Charlotte Latin skirted past Providence Day 4-2 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
