The Randolph-Clay Red Devils's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 victory over Abbeville. That's another feather in the cap for Randolph-Clay, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Randolph-Clay to victory were Je'Sus Daniels and Jaleen Gibson. Daniels dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Gibson scored 14 points along with three steals.
Randolph-Clay is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Abbeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-1.
Randolph-Clay will head out on the road to face off against Stewart County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stewart County has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17. Abbeville and Ariton will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Ariton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
