Franklin Community has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Martinsville Artesians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Franklin Community focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
In what's become a running theme this season, Franklin Community gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. Everything went their way against Whiteland as Franklin Community made off with a 51-29 win. Given Franklin Community's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Whiteland is ranked 157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin Community got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Scarlett Kimbrell out in front who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Erica Buening was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Martinsville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. The game between Martinsville and Jasper wasn't particularly close, with Martinsville falling 48-29. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Martinsville in their matchups with Jasper: they've now lost three in a row.
Franklin Community pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.29 points. As for Martinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Everything came up roses for Franklin Community against Martinsville in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-21 win. With Franklin Community ahead 34-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
