Caro has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Cass City Red Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Caro has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Last Tuesday, Caro got the win against the Patriots by a conclusive 52-32. Given Caro's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Patriots are ranked 530th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caro found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn Osborn, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Osborn has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Normandy Geiger, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Cass City can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Vassar, posting a 51-17 win at home. While fans of Cass City might be used to big wins, the 34-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Caro pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Cass City, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Caro came up short against the Red Hawks in their previous matchup back in January, falling 38-34. Can Caro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
