There's no place like home for Weslaco, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Economedes Jaguars 62-42 on Friday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Weslaco's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Pete Cantu, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points and eight boards. Cantu has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lino Milano, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Weslaco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Economedes only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Economedes lost, don't look at Nathaniel De La Garza. Despite the final result, he earned 17 points. That was a full 40.5% of Economedes' points, marking the sixth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alexandro Zurita, who put up eight points.

Weslaco has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Economedes, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-13.

Weslaco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-39 victory against La Joya on the 20th. Economedes has also already played their next contest, a 72-49 defeat against Edinburg North on the 20th.
