The ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars will take on the Peoria Christian Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Peoria Christian will be up against a hot ROWVA/Williamsfield squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Cougars' way against Biggsville West Central on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-3 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Brody Lytle made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has become a key player for ROWVA/Williamsfield: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 11-12 otherwise. Lytle was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, ROWVA/Williamsfield got a big performance out of Mason Sornberger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. Those three runs gave Sornberger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Talan Hull, who went 1-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
ROWVA/Williamsfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Biggsville West Central only posted an OBP of .290.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Peoria Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Midwest Central on Tuesday. The Chargers blew past the Raiders 12-2. With that win, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Peoria Christian also got a great performance from Allyn Uhler as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Uhler has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Walder, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Pavelka, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Peoria Christian pushed their record up to 8-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.
