The Jackson Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Jefferson Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Jackson got the win against Tri-Cities by a conclusive 37-13. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jackson.
Jackson can attribute much of their success to Kenyon Gilliam, who rushed for 199 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Khalil Gardner made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Jefferson put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over Eastside. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Jefferson just coasted through the last quarter.
Jefferson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sammy Brown led the charge by rushing for 181 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Minish, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Jackson to 5-5 and Jefferson to 10-0.
