Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madison County). They were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Flowery Branch Falcons on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Raiders considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Despite the loss, Flowery Branch still got an impressive performance from Brett Strum, who threw for 111 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 75 yards.

Madison County's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3. As for Flowery Branch, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison County will challenge Cedar Shoals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Flowery Branch, they will take on Walnut Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
