After losing to Benjamin the last time they met, Saint Andrew decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Scots took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 35-3 win over the Buccaneers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Scots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Buccaneers are ranked 226th).
Saint Andrew's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Williams out in front who threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Wesley Winn also helped with two scores in total.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Winn, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Saint Andrew's defense and their five sacks. Benjamin's QB won't forget Brandon Mordis anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Mordis also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 14.
The win made it two in a row for Saint Andrew's and bumps their season record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points over those games. As for Benjamin, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
As of now, neither Saint Andrew's nor the Buccaneers have any future games scheduled.
