Basketball Recap: Bridger Salvevold Key Part of a Team Effort in Cowboys Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Plentywood, Culbertson was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They strolled past the Froid/Medicine Lake Redhawks with points to spare, taking the game 53-37. For the Cowboys, this counts as revenge for the 55-44 victory the Redhawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Culbertson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bridger Salvevold out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Salvevold has posted since back in January of 2024. Gavin Deen was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 10 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Culbertson now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Froid/Medicine Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Culbertson will venture away from home to take on Savage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Savage will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Culbertson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Froid/Medicine Lake, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Culbertson at 7:29 p.m. on January 31st.
