The Whitman Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gaithersburg Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitman has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 461 points over their last seven contests.
Last Friday, Whitman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bethesda-Chevy Chase, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory.
Whitman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Thomas Farrell led the charge by scoring 15 points. Titian DeRosa was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Gaithersburg had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 55-46 win over Clarksburg.
Whitman pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Gaithersburg, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Whitman came up short against Gaithersburg in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 64-58. Will Whitman have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
