The Cross Lanes Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 28-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paden City.
Kimberly Burch was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points.
Cross Lanes Christian bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Paden City, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7.
Cross Lanes Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wood County Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Wood County Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Paden City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beallsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Beallsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 745th in Ohio, while Paden City is ranked 119th in West Virginia).
