The Fountain Central Mustangs will challenge the Attica Red Ramblers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fountain Central is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Fountain Central made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lebanon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-6 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since April 21st.
Meanwhile, Attica came into Saturday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 14-10 victory over North Vermillion on Saturday. With that win, the Red Ramblers brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Karsyn Lovell-Ramey made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Blake Inman was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Luke Blankenship was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Attica kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Vermillion only managed seven hits.
Attica's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-7-1. As for Fountain Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
