The Adams City Eagles waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins but they left with six. They were the clear victor by a 45-22 margin over DSST: Conservatory Green. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Adams City also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Adams City was led to victory by Fernanda Hernandez and Morgan Williams. Hernandez dropped a triple-double on ten points, 11 rebounds, and 13 steals, while Williams dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Hernandez is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mayte Acevedo was another key contributor, scoring no points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Adams City is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for DSST: Conservatory Green, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adams City won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Skyview is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Eagles a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for DSST: Conservatory Green, they will head out on the road to challenge the Ocelotls at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Rocky Mountain Prep SMART is ranked 322nd, while the Hornets are ranked 317th).
