The Spectrum Sting will take on the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Spectrum is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Spectrum is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over PACT Charter on Friday. The Sting haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Joshua Jeske made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Isaac Shopek looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Spectrum got a massive performance out of Tyler Simonovich, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Tony Ambrose was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Spectrum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as PACT Charter only posted an OBP of .367.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Hinckley-Finlayson's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Hinckley-Finlayson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kellen VonRueden, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Hinckley-Finlayson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Spectrum, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Hinckley-Finlayson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Spectrum hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. It's a different story for Hinckley-Finlayson, though, as they've only averaged .246. Will they be able to contain Spectrum's hitters?
Spectrum skirted past Hinckley-Finlayson 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Do the Sting have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
