Orland is 8-2 against Corning since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Orland Trojans will be playing at home against the Corning Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Orland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Orland was fully in charge, breezing past Oroville 71-44 at home.
It was another big night for Zach Story, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Carlson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Corning fought the good fight in their overtime match against Las Plumas on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunderbirds.
Orland's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Corning, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-13.
Orland didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Corning when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win. Does Orland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Corning turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
