Crofton has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Elkhorn Valley Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Even though Bridgeport scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Crofton still came out on top. Crofton took their game at home with ease, bagging a 72-34 victory over Bridgeport. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 58-20.
Wyatt Tramp had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 216 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Will Steffen was another key contributor, rushing for 84 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Elkhorn Valley faced Plainview in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Elkhorn Valley claimed a resounding 36-8 victory over Plainview on the road. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Elkhorn Valley had established a 20 point advantage.
Elkhorn Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trevis Halsey out in front who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Nitz, who threw for 62 yards and two touchdowns.
Crofton's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.44 points. As for Elkhorn Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Crofton and Elkhorn Valley haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Crofton commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 7.1 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Elkhorn Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
