The Pinecrest Glades Academy Dragons on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Downtown Doral Dolphins at 3:30 p.m. on January 24th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Pinecrest Glades Academy lost to BridgePrep Village Green on the road by a decisive 66-50 margin.
Despite the defeat, Pinecrest Glades Academy saw an underclassman step up: Ronnie Rivero scored 16 points along with two steals. Rivero hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brandon Diaz, who scored six points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Downtown Doral's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 97-54 loss at the hands of Southridge. While losing is never fun, Downtown Doral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while Southridge is ranked 169th).
Pinecrest Glades Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Downtown Doral, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-12.
