Ariton hadn't done well against Brantley recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Everything went the Ariton Purple Cats' way against the Brantley Bulldogs as the Ariton Purple Cats made off with an 11-2 victory. Beth Dixon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Lizzy Faircloth was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Laney Deloney also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Ariton's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-4-1. As for Brantley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
