Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, South Hills made sure to put some runs up on the board against Colony on Wednesday. The Huskies put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 17-1 win. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Parker Milton spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, South Hills got a massive performance out of Charli Moreno, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs Moreno has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Saguin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
South Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. They are 13-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
South Hills has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Alta Loma, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alta Loma hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like South Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .401. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alta Loma couldn't quite get it done against South Hills in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 5-2. Will the Braves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
